The Fullswift Story
The idea for Fullswift was born as Dr. Jesse Modica and his family (Lisa, Ruby & Kai) made their move back to Colorado by way of a round-the-world trip. Their last leg was a month in New Zealand by campervan, wrapping up a once-in-a-lifetime family adventure around the world, landing back in Boulder where it all began for them. Planting the seed that would grow into Fullswift came from adventure and travel! The “Anything is possible!” mantra was more alive than ever in their hearts and this mindset made what felt like an impossible task, possible.
First, a bit of context... As most of you know, Dr. Jesse graduated from University of Colorado (2003 - Go Buffs!), lived in Boulder and Lafayette through college and grad school with his wife Lisa, and progressed through the Regis University Doctor of Physical Therapy program (2007). Their daughter Ruby (now 18) was born while Jesse studied at Regis. Kai (now 16) came along shortly after their move West to Petaluma, California in 2007 where they made home and community; and Lisa completed her MBA. More about the family in future installments!
In Dr. Jesse’s 16+ years of advanced clinical practice in orthopedic and sports performance physical therapy, he learned a lot (good, bad and ugly), and ultimately, with Fullswift, had the fortune and freedom to refine the way physical therapy is delivered - to focus on what gets people better through ideal athlete/patient care, centered on growth and high performance.
In February 2019, Fullswift Mobile Physical Therapy + Performance was born as the family settled back into Boulder, Dr. Jesse was fed up working around limitations and constraints that in-network (insurance based) care delivery models placed on clinicians and patients ultimate experience:
“I just felt like there was so much more to offer athletes! If I could share my craft without time restrictions and treatment limitations guided by insurance reimbursement rules, my athletes recovery would be optimized, accelerated and they would be happier with the care they receive.”
Returning to Boulder provided Dr. Jesse the opportunity to finally provide the type of individualized and personalized care he had dreamed of most of his career. Uncompromised evaluation and treatment efforts with a deeply personalized touch - providing the care in the comfort of athletes’ homes.

Things were going great - and then COVID. Thanks to a strong following and word of mouth referrals, Fullswift came out on top. No government assistance or unemployment, instead Jesse pivoted to provide telehealth care and met with clients in outdoor spaces to continue efforts during the restricted COVID months. Ultimately, COVID did not stop Fullswift from providing top tier care in a competitive Boulder market!

Ultimately, “PT delivered” was an attractive alternative to the in-clinic care surrounding the pandemic and Dr. Jesse was able to creatively help hundreds of people get their groove back in the most uncertain times. By 2021, Fullswift had grown to a consistent full time mobile practice and family business, working with recreational and professional athletes young and grown, helping them be their best and do what they love most.
In Winter 2022, Fullswift transitioned to a (mostly) in-clinic treatment model which has been amazing! Working alongside Kinesis Integrated Performance and their talented staff of trainers, Fullswift helps casual, recreational and professional athletes solve complex problems so they can do more of what they love! Now Fullswift operates a more collaborative treatment model than ever, often collaborating with strength coaches, doctors/surgeons and allied healthcare professionals to help athletes stay ready for the next adventure. The synergy of working in a space with like-minded professionals is powerful and inspiring. This next year will likely bring very exciting advancements for Fullswift Physio + Performance and our beloved clients!
